A Sepia Postcard
Tomorrow the lock-down becomes effective. Here they call it a “circuit breaker”, which is exactly the same as a lock-down, but with a fancy technocratic name. At the end of the day it just means that we will be staying at home for a while, dreaming of kite-surfing on paradise islands or chilling out on a beach with a cold beer in our hand.
Today I was cleaning up one of a few carton boxes that still hang around in my apartment, a relic of past moves, and I found this sepia postcard.

Wait a minute: a surfer doing a radical top turn on a perfect wave. A guy observing with a chilled beer in his hand.
It reads: “From where you’d rather be”. Signed Corona.
And from tomorrow we will be relegated to our couches. Which, as the couch is our own, technically speaking is not even couch-surfing 😉
This reminds me so much of that old song:
“Life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
Ironic – Alanis Morrisette 1996
When you think everything’s okay and everything’s going right
And life has a funny way of helping you out when you think
Everything’s gone wrong and everything blows up in your face”
