A Pirate Promise

Leiji Matsumoto, the Japanese Manga artist who back in 1977 created Captain Harlock, a space pirate with a noble philosophy of life, donated an original drawing to Molinette hospital in Torino.

He intends to show his gratitude to the personnel that took care of him back in November 2019, when he was hospitalized there following a serious pneumonia during an Italian tour. In the drawing, the pirate says: “everything will be fine”.

I lived in Torino for seven years, while I was completing my engineering studies; it is a place full of memories. Knowing that Captain Harlock, one of the myths of my childhood, is joining forces with the town doctors to fight Coronavirus fills my heart with good hope.
